The 4-Point Yoke is a hoist spreader-bar attachment used in place of a standard 2-point yoke to provide a wider, more evenly distributed lifting platform for patient hoists. Rather than gathering sling loops or clips at just two points, the 4-point design spreads the load across four attachment points, which helps stabilise the patient's position during transfer, reduces sling sway, and is particularly useful with slings that have four loop sets (such as full-body or divided-leg slings) or with larger and bariatric patients where load distribution matters. It typically features a rigid, powder-coated or polymer-covered metal frame with smooth, rounded edges and a self-skinning cover to protect both the sling material and the patient from contact injury. The yoke attaches directly to the hoist's lifting hook or boom and is compatible with a range of mobile and ceiling hoist systems that use a standard yoke mounting point. Caregivers should confirm compatibility between the yoke's weight rating, the hoist's safe working load, and the sling being used, since the overall lifting capacity of the system is always limited by the lowest-rated component. As with all hoist accessories, the 4-Point Yoke should be inspected regularly for wear, cracking, or damage to its cover and attachment points, and used only by trained caregivers following the hoist manufacturer's instructions.
