ACTION Pilot Cushion

The Action Pilot is a low-profile pressure relief cushion from Action Products, designed for users with an existing pressure injury history who need effective skin protection without adding excessive seat height. Its low 1-inch profile keeps the user's centre of gravity close to the wheelchair seat, which allows feet to more easily reach the floor for foot-assisted propulsion and makes wheelchair-to-surface transfers simpler. Beneath the surface, a 1-inch layer of Akton viscoelastic polymer combined with foam and gel elements immerses and off-loads bony prominences such as the ischial tuberosities and sacrum, protecting fragile or compromised skin from excessive localised pressure. This multi-use design makes it suitable not only for manual and power wheelchairs but also for other seating applications such as car, truck, or taxi seats where reduced pressure, vibration, and shear are needed. The cushion has a waterproof underside for added protection and ships with a Basic Cover as standard. It is also designed to conform well over pre-contoured foam or rigid cushion bases, helping to maintain stability and positioning where a more structured seating setup is already in place.
