Birdie EVO

The Birdie EVO is a mobile patient lifting hoist built for everyday transfers in home care and residential settings, offering a safe working load of 180kg. Its standout feature is an ergonomic lift mechanism that allows a full 360-degree rotation, giving caregivers greater flexibility to position and reposition a patient during a transfer without repeatedly repositioning the whole hoist base. The base measures 1220mm in length and 640mm in width, opening to an inside width of 1020mm, with a minimum-to-maximum height at the sling hook of 415–1660mm, giving a generous lifting range suited to floor, bed, chair, and wheelchair transfers. It weighs approximately 40kg and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, with the SmartLock quick-release spreader bar attachment allowing hooks and yokes to be swapped without tools. A tool-free folding frame lets the hoist collapse down for compact storage or transport between rooms, and the curved leg design allows the base to slide easily under armchairs and power wheelchairs for close, secure positioning before a lift. An ergonomic push handle and user-friendly control pendant are designed to reduce caregiver strain during day-to-day use. As with all mobile hoists, the Birdie EVO must be used only with slings and yokes rated to match its safe working load, and operators should be trained in its use before performing patient transfers.
