Birdie EVO Compact

The Birdie EVO Compact is the smaller-footprint version of Invacare's Birdie EVO mobile hoist range, designed for use in tighter spaces such as small bedrooms, bathrooms, or homes with narrow doorways, while still offering a 150kg safe working load with manual leg adjustment. Its compact base measures 1080mm in length and 520mm in width, opening to 815mm inside width, with a folded height of just 455mm and a tight 1070mm turning diameter, making it easier to manoeuvre around furniture and through confined domestic environments. The lifting range runs from 530mm to 1590mm at the sling hook, covering floor-to-standing transfers as well as bed and chair transfers, and the hoist weighs approximately 31kg thanks to its lightweight frame construction. Like the standard Birdie EVO, it features an ergonomic lift mechanism permitting 360-degree rotation for flexible positioning, a SmartLock quick-release spreader bar for fast, tool-free attachment changes, and a tool-free folding mechanism that lets the whole unit collapse down for storage or transport in a car boot. Curved legs allow the base to fit under low chairs and wheelchairs for close access before lifting. This model uses manual leg-spread adjustment operated via a foot pedal or hand lever rather than an electric leg-widening mechanism. As with any mobile hoist, slings and spreader bars used with it must be rated to at least the hoist's 150kg safe working load, and it should only be operated by trained caregivers.
