Breezy Basix Transit Wheelchair

The Breezy BasiX Transit Wheelchair is a standard manual wheelchair from Sunrise Medical's BasiX range, configured with smaller rear wheels for attendant propulsion rather than self-propelling. Like the rest of the BasiX platform, it is built on a lightweight aluminium frame with a total chair weight of around 15kg and a maximum user weight of approximately 125kg, striking a balance between portability and everyday durability. Seat width can be set between roughly 38cm and 52cm and seat depth between 41cm and 46cm, allowing the chair to be fitted to a range of body sizes rather than offering a single fixed seating position. Seat height (42.5cm to 50.5cm) and backrest angle (10° to 16°) are also adjustable, giving carers and clinicians the ability to fine-tune posture and comfort for the individual user. Flip-back armrests make transfers easier, and the tension-adjustable backrest allows the level of back support to be tailored over time. As a transit model, it is intended for situations where the user is pushed by a carer rather than propelling themselves, such as hospital corridors, aged care facilities, day outings, or transport to appointments, and its smaller rear wheels keep the overall footprint compact for manoeuvring in tighter spaces. Anti-tip wheels and a swing-away legrest are included for added safety. Being part of the established BasiX2 platform, it is also compatible with a wide range of Sunrise Medical accessories.
