Disposable Kwik-Fix Slings are single-use patient hoist slings designed for short-term hospital stays, acute admissions, or visiting residents where infection control is a priority and a sling cannot practically be laundered and reused between patients. Supplied in packs, they are available with either loop or clip fittings to suit different hoist yoke types, and come with padded leg sections and additional tailoring around the commode aperture as standard, supporting general lifting and toileting-adjacent transfers during a short stay. Each sling carries a maximum weight capacity of 200kg and is fitted with a built-in safety feature: a 'DO NOT USE' warning label that only becomes visible once the fabric has been in contact with liquid, giving staff a clear visual cue to withdraw a sling that has been soiled or soaked and should no longer be used. Slings are intended for one patient only, for the duration of a single short stay, and must be discarded immediately if there are any signs of deterioration or if soiled, rather than reused. Unused slings can be stored for up to two years before use. Because they limit cross-contamination between patients, Kwik-Fix Slings are particularly suited to acute wards, isolation rooms, and any setting where infection control protocols require single-patient-use equipment rather than a reusable, laundered sling.
