EquaGel Adjustable Protector Cushion

The EquaGel Adjustable Protector Cushion is a high-specification pressure care cushion built from a dry polymer gel grid, designed for wheelchair users at higher risk of pressure injury who also need adjustable pelvic positioning. It stands roughly 2.5 inches tall and uses a dual-layer gel construction: the top layer has a tighter grid pattern for a soft, comfort-focused response at the skin surface, while the bottom layer uses a wider-set grid for deeper structural support and posture control. A key feature of the Adjustable Protector is its interchangeable pelvic contour inserts, which let a clinician increase the depth of therapeutic gel beneath the pelvis from around 1-3/4 inches up to 2, 2-1/4, or 2-1/2 inches, allowing the level of immersion and off-loading under the ischial tuberosities and sacrum to be tailored to the individual's risk level and comfort. The dry polymer gel is naturally cooler than foam or air cushions, helping to reduce the heat and moisture build-up that can contribute to skin breakdown. It is finished with a fluid-resistant, flame-resistant, vapour-permeable cover that minimises friction against the skin.
