EquaGel General Cushion

The EquaGel General Cushion is a 100% dry polymer gel wheelchair cushion designed to provide reliable pressure redistribution and everyday seating comfort. It uses a two-stage gel construction: the top stage has small open cells with thin walls that give a soft, responsive feel at the skin surface, while the bottom stage uses larger cells with thicker walls to provide firmer structural support and stability. The gel works through a column-buckling action, where each cell wall is engineered to buckle once a specific weight threshold is reached, allowing the cushion to conform closely around the body and reduce localised pressure at bony prominences. The cushion stands approximately 2 inches high and includes a built-in three-quarter-inch pelvic contour to help centre and stabilise the pelvis. It is finished with a fluid-resistant, vapour-permeable, and flame-resistant cover that is easy to clean and helps protect the gel core from spills. The General Cushion is available in a broad range of sizes from 16 to 30 inches wide and 16 to 20 inches deep, with foam side rails added on bariatric sizes over 22 inches wide for extra lateral stability.
