EquaGel Protector Pressure Cushion

The EquaGel Protector Pressure Cushion is a dry polymer gel cushion designed for users who need a higher level of pressure care than a general-purpose gel cushion provides. Like other EquaGel products, it uses a two-stage gel construction, with a tighter, thin-walled grid on the upper surface for comfort and a wider, thicker-walled grid beneath for deep postural support, working through a column-buckling mechanism where each cell wall gives way once a set weight threshold is exceeded, allowing the gel to conform closely around bony prominences and reduce sustained localised pressure. The Protector stands approximately 2.5 inches high and includes a built-in three-quarter-inch pelvic contour to help centre and stabilise the pelvis within the cushion. The gel itself is made from food-quality natural materials and remains cooler than foam or air alternatives, reducing heat and moisture build-up at the skin interface. It is finished with a fluid-resistant, vapour-permeable, flame-resistant cover featuring a carry handle, a Velcro positioning tab, and a rear zip for easy fitting and removal, and the cover can be hand or machine washed and air dried. The Protector is available in widths from 16 to 30 inches and depths of 16 or 18 inches, making it suitable for users at higher risk of pressure injury who need dependable, low-maintenance gel-based pressure relief.
