The Ergo Walking Sling is a rehabilitation sling used with a ceiling hoist system, such as the Luna overhead hoist, to support gait training and early mobilisation for patients working to regain their ability to walk. Rather than lifting a patient fully off their feet, the walking sling is designed to provide partial body-weight support around the upper body and groin area, allowing the patient to bear some of their own weight through their legs while the ceiling hoist reduces fall risk and supports balance during the exercise. Soft padding is built into the arm section of the sling to keep it comfortable during extended sessions, and a double safety clasp locks the sling securely in position on the hoist attachment, giving therapists confidence that the connection will not release unexpectedly mid-session. Because gait training involves active movement and weight-bearing rather than a passive lift, the Ergo Walking Sling is intended to be used only with a qualified instructor or physiotherapist present, supervising the patient's technique, fatigue level, and safety throughout the session. It is best suited to active rehabilitation patients — for example those recovering from stroke, orthopaedic surgery, or neurological conditions — who retain some ability to stand and take steps but need a safety net and support to do so confidently. It should always be used in conjunction with a ceiling hoist rated and configured for gait training use.
