ISA Compact

The ISA Compact is a stand-assist hoist designed for users who retain some weight-bearing ability and lower-limb strength but need mechanical assistance and safety support to move from sitting to standing during transfers. With a safe working load of 140kg, it is built around a genuinely compact footprint — a 925mm base length and 535mm base width, opening from 405mm to 735mm inside width — making it well suited to smaller bathrooms, bedrooms, and homes where a full sling-based mobile hoist would be difficult to manoeuvre. It offers a lifting height of up to 675mm, enough to assist a full sit-to-stand transfer from a chair, bed, wheelchair, or toilet, and rolls on a base with a 1060mm turning diameter and 35mm ground clearance for reasonable manoeuvrability around furniture and door thresholds. The whole unit weighs approximately 43kg and can be dismantled without tools, which makes it practical for caregivers who need to store the hoist compactly or transport it between rooms or care visits. Because a stand-assist hoist relies on the user actively participating in the standing motion rather than being passively lifted, it is only appropriate for individuals assessed as having sufficient trunk control, upper body strength, and weight-bearing capacity to use it safely, and should be introduced as part of a documented moving-and-handling assessment.
