The Jordan Lifting Frame is a rigid horizontal lifting frame used with a compatible hoist for situations where a patient needs to be lifted while remaining fully supine, most notably floor recoveries where a spinal or orthopaedic injury is suspected and bending or curling the patient's body — as a standard sling would require — could risk further harm. The frame is built from powder-coated tubular metal with adjustable plastic slats that support the patient's full length, and uses quick-release plastic clips that allow the frame to be disassembled quickly for storage or transport, supplied complete with a carry case. Lifting straps are included to interface between the frame and the hoist, and the frame is commonly used together with a 4-point yoke attachment, which spreads the sling or strap load across a broad area appropriate for a supine lifting device like this. Because it is intended for emergency and clinical floor-recovery scenarios rather than routine daily transfers, it should be used by staff trained in spinal-precaution handling techniques and as part of an organisation's falls and floor-recovery protocol. Note that the frame does not include a hoist or strap kit — these are separate components that must be sourced to match the frame and confirmed as compatible before use. As with all lifting equipment, the combined rating of the hoist, straps, and frame must be verified before any lift is attempted.
