Sun Canopy

A sun canopy is a popular add-on accessory for mobility scooters, designed to shield the rider from direct sun, wind, and light rain during everyday outings. It typically consists of a lightweight frame - often aluminium or another rust-resistant metal - covered with a weather-resistant fabric canopy, and is designed to attach to the scooter's tiller post, seat post, or an accessory mounting bracket without needing permanent modification to the scooter itself. Most canopies are height-adjustable and can be removed quickly when not needed, such as when loading the scooter into a vehicle or storing it in a garage. A vented or angled canopy design helps air flow through underneath, reducing the buildup of heat on warm days rather than trapping it, and the covering also cuts glare, which can make it easier to see the display and path ahead on bright days. Adding a canopy is one of the simplest ways to make a mobility scooter more comfortable for regular outdoor use, particularly for riders who spend extended time outside for shopping trips, walks, or social visits and want protection from the elements without carrying an umbrella or wearing bulky wet-weather gear.
